Who we are

Garage Door Repairs Vancouver operates garagedoorrepairsvancouver.ca and answers garage door quote requests across Metro Vancouver, British Columbia. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and what you can do about it. It follows British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).

Our privacy contact is the person who handles privacy questions for the business. Write to privacy@garagedoorrepairsvancouver.ca or call (604) 216-9380. If you have a complaint, contact us first and we will look into it. If we cannot resolve it, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia.

What we collect

• What you type into a quote form: your name, phone number, email address, the service you need, your city and the details you add.
• Calls to our number: the caller's number, the time and length of the call, a recording of the call, and any transcript or summary made from it.
• How you reached us: the page you arrived on, the page you sent the form from, and the website that referred you (the site name only).
• Website analytics: pages viewed, approximate location (city or region), device and browser type, collected with Google Analytics cookies.
• How visitors use the pages: clicks, scrolling and taps, recorded by Microsoft Clarity as heatmaps and session replays. Everything typed into a form is masked, so it is never recorded.
• Standard server logs kept by our hosting provider, such as IP address and the time of a request.

Why we collect it

We use your information to answer your quote request and arrange the work you ask about, and to measure and improve this website. We do not use it for anything else.

Who receives it

We share your details only with the people who work on our behalf to provide your quote and service, and only for that purpose.

These service providers process information for us: form processing (Web3Forms), website analytics (Google; Microsoft for Clarity session analytics), call handling, recording and lead notifications (our call-handling system and its telecom provider, which also receive quote requests sent through the form and may relay them to us by text message), email (Hostinger) and website hosting (Vercel). Your information may be processed outside Canada and may be accessible to law-enforcement and national-security authorities in those countries.

We never sell your information.

Call recording

Calls to our number may be recorded and logged (caller number, time, duration) to make sure we have your job details right and to improve service. Recordings are kept 12 months. Our call-handling system is hosted in Canada; calls are carried and recorded by our telecom provider in the United States and may be transcribed and summarised by an automated service. A short message before the call connects tells you that the call may be recorded.

How long we keep it

Quote requests from the website are kept 12 months, call recordings 12 months and website analytics 14 months. After that they are deleted.

Cookies and how to opt out

This site uses Google Analytics first-party cookies to count visits and see which pages are useful. It also uses Microsoft Clarity, which sets first-party and Microsoft cookies to understand how pages are used; see the Microsoft Privacy Statement. It does not use advertising cookies. You can block cookies in your browser settings, or install Google's opt-out browser add-on for Google Analytics.

Your rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or withdraw your consent. If you withdraw consent, we can no longer quote or arrange work for you, because that needs your contact details. Send requests to the privacy contact above.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, and access is limited to the people who handle your request.

Changes to this policy

We update this policy when the way we handle information changes. The date at the top shows the latest version.
